Acreage Athletic League — Fall Flag Football Program

The Acreage Athletic League (AAL) Fall Flag Football Program provides a fast‑paced, skill‑building, and confidence‑focused experience for boys and girls across multiple age divisions. Our league emphasizes player development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive community environment while delivering a fun and competitive game format tailored to each age group.


Program Overview

AAL Fall Flag Football offers two game formats based on age and division:

  • 5v5 Boys and Girls Format — Pee Wee & Freshman Divisions
  • Fast, simple, and development‑focused. Ideal for young athletes learning fundamentals.
  • 7v7 Girls Format — Junior Varsity, Varsity & High School Divisions
  • A dynamic, expanded format designed to support the rapid growth of girls flag football and prepare athletes for school‑based competition.


Division Structure

Pee Wee Division (Co‑Ed 5v5)

Ages: 4-5

Focus: Fun, fundamentals, and introductory gameplay

Highlights:

  • Smaller field and simplified rules
  • Emphasis on basic skills: running, catching, flag pulling
  • Equal playing time and coach‑supported instruction

Freshman Division (Co‑Ed 5v5)

Ages: 6-8

Focus: Skill development and structured team play

Highlights:

  • Introduction to play concepts and route running
  • Increased game awareness and positional understanding
  • Balanced competition with continued emphasis on learning

Junior Varsity Girls Division (7v7)

Ages: 9-11

Focus: Competitive play and advanced skill progression

Highlights:

  • Expanded field and full 7v7 format
  • Route trees, defensive schemes, and situational football
  • Ideal preparation for middle‑school and early high‑school play

Varsity Girls Division (7v7)

Ages: 12-14

Focus: High‑level competition and leadership development

  • Faster pace and more complex offensive/defensive systems
  • Increased emphasis on athletic performance and teamwork
  • Strong pathway to high‑school flag programs

High School Girls Division (7v7)

Ages: 15–18

  • Full competitive 7v7 structure mirroring FHSAA‑style play
  • Advanced schemes, play calling, and game strategy
  • Ideal for athletes preparing for or competing in school flag football
